We at Speech Start would like to wish our families and friends happy holidays and a very happy and healthy new year! We hope you enjoy this time with loved ones and make many memories. We will be working on a modified schedule for two weeks starting this coming Monday December 22. Please check with your therapist about available therapy times for Monday and Tuesday (12/22, 12/23, 12/29, 12/30).
Exciting news! Small Factory has partnered with Speech Start to host “Afternoons Out for Special Learners” this December! The events offer parents special opportunities to shop or find some time for R&R during the holidays. The drop-off events are for children with autism, developmental disabilities and communication impairments. Staff is special education trained and fluent in sign language. Gluten free snacks will be provided and the studio is a nut-free environment. Children will enjoy movies, board games, Minecraft on the computers, and arts and crafts.
Dates: Sat. Dec. 6, 2-6 p.m., Sat. Dec. 20, 2-6 p.m. and Sun. Dec. 28, 2-6 p.m.
Register for one or all three days. Cost per day is $40 per child and $30 for siblings. Pre-registration is required by calling 732-212-1088.

It’s that time of year again! We want to wish all of our Speech Start families and friends a fun, exciting, and successful new school year! The new session schedules begin this week. If you have any questions about your schedule or the back-to-school transition please call the office.
We hope all of our families are having a fantastic summer! Our summer groups have been very busy! The older kids have been having fun with games and cooking activities. Some of our trips to date have included mini golf, boardwalk, and lunch at the local pizzeria. The younger groups have been having a blast with activities such as crafts, water play races, a fun “campout” complete with stories around our “campfire,” and fun cooking activities as well.
As the summer moves forward we will begin scheduling for our fall/school year session. Please start to think about possible times/days that you are available for therapy and keep a look out for the schedule request forms which will be at the front desk. We ask that you provide three possible day and time options and we will do our best to accommodate!

We are excited to begin our social groups again. We have groups for different ages, please call if you’d like more information! We are excited to be working with our friends at Small Factory in Fair Haven again. They are holding a variety of camps for different ages.
